Beach Love, 5 tips for your Wedding by the Shore!
A beach wedding can be a fantastic experience both for the couple and their guests. After all, it’s like a mini-vacation for everyone! However, pulling off a perfect event at the shore isn’t without its unique challenges. Here you will find some tips you should not miss.
1. Find Flowers Ad-hoc with the Venue
You’ll want flowers that last, so we recommend you consult with a local florist to choose the flowers that are right for you and your venue. Heat and direct sunlight are no good for many blossoms. Those that wilt easily, like bouvardia, freesia or poppies, aren’t good choices for your beach wedding.
2. Dress Accordingly
Not all dresses and fabrics work for the beach, so that’s why we recommend you choose a dress made of a light fabric that allows you to move more easily and keep you cool in the heat. Also, don’t be afraid to go nontraditional and choose a dress with some color. Tie it all together with some vibrant bridesmaids dresses!
3. Have a Back-Up Plan
Tropical weather can be very sporadic. One second it’s sunny and warm and the next, a rainstorm appears out of nowhere. Therefore, it’s important to have a back-up plan. For example, arranging tents or booking an indoor location as a plan B. Having this option to fall back on in case of bad weather will give you peace of mind you deserve on your special day.
4. Have a Sound System
It’s important to keep in mind that the beach can be loud. The sound of the waves crashing and the breezy wind can cause a lot of background noise at a beach wedding. This is why we suggest using a microphone for the ceremony. If you decide to do this, don’t forget to use a windscreen cover for the microphone so that your guests can actually hear your vows and not that loud wind blowing into the microphone.
5. Simplicity Must be your Mantra
A beach wedding means wind, sand, and the ocean spray, so you’ll want to keep your hair and makeup simple. You can choose to leave your hair down and curl it with some beachy waves to fit your beach wedding theme. It will be hot, so keep your makeup light and natural. Also, we strongly suggest wearing waterproof mascara. Trust us on this.
